ABOUT
InMyNeighbourhood[VR] is an interactive and immersive storytelling experience set in a virtual neighbourhood, created in collaboration with 22 emerging writers from the Hume City Council area of Melbourne.

Part interactive performance and part collective storytelling piece, the work takes audiences into a fictional neighbourhood where they can unpack a range of breath-taking stories addressing issues of migration, mental health, family and gender-based violence, childhood memories and hopes and dreams.
​
Originally created during the COVID19 lock-down's in response to UN 16 Days of Activism, the work includes everything from poetry, short stories and testimonies to animations and illustrations embedded in virtual reality.
​
What evolves is a celebration of emerging and powerful storytelling talent and the heartfelt observations and experiences of many women in the local community.
​
InMyNeighbourhood[VR] is recommended for those aged 15 and over and does reference issues related to family and gender-based violence.
